May 3rd, 2012 by VinaCapital Foundation

We would like to inform Vo Thanh Sang, the 2 year old boy who was helped to get heart surgery by Ms. Val Monk and her 1000miles2work. After 2 years waiting for treatment, he was finally operated yesterday. The boy overcame a 7 hour surgery in operation room. It’s so difficult for his parents to wait for their child’s news. The father called Heartbeat Vietnam and he worried so much. Finally Sang was transferred to ICU room at 3pm for same day. This case is one of complicated case which VCF found in 2010 but many hospitals refused to do surgery for him because the risk rate is so high. When Sang can have surgery in Hoan My Da Nang, one of hospital in the central of Vietnam,  Heartbeat Vietnam agreed to let him to have surgery there immediately, thanks to Val Monk and 1000miles2work. But his situation needed more medical treatment since the boy was too weak. We receive notice from the hospital that Thanh Sang needed three more months for medical treatment but in the end of April, the doctors decided to do surgery for Sang. Sang’s family was so happy and they would like to express their sincere thanks to the supporter who have save their boy. Val is definitely Sang’s savior and gave little Sang a second chance to survive. At the present time, the doctors still follow up Sang’s situation. The little boy’s health is in good progress. We all hope little Sang will overcome this difficult time and will have a normal life as we expected.

Together we pray for him.
